Twenty years of music

A career?

A music career?

Not quite, more like a musical journey spanning over twenty years. It's a shame to have been born before the advent of social networks; perhaps my tracks would have had more opportunities. Here's the story of Mac Parak, from 1990 to today.

WHITE SAND

BIG TOKYO

AND...

Musically, I started out as a drummer, but after few lessons, I turned to singing. In 1992, I began private lessons with a teacher, trying to emulate the voices of some singers, notably David Coverdale. After a while, I left the course to fully dedicate myself to writing my first original songs with a group of young friends called ACROFOBIA. I penned about a dozen original tracks, all in the hair metal genre but in Italian. The adventure ended abruptly in 1996 when thieves ransacked our recording studio.

A year later, I joined a band named PHOOLAN DEVI, dedicated to classic metal, followed by stints with MAJESTIC 12 and two project called STEEL ARROW and MACNIMAL, that never quite took off. I wrote around fifty songs, some of which were poorly recorded directly during rehearsal sessions.

In 1998, I met Stef Viana, who was captivated by my voice and proposed a project focusing on 80s Melodic Rock. Together, we founded WHITE SAND and released our debut EP titled "Eighties' Style" (1999). We were invited to open for Gotthard in Switzerland the following year, but our attempt to expand into a full band faltered when organizers discovered White Sand was essentially a duo, leading to no further calls. The planned release of White Sand's first full album in 2001, titled "Back in Action," fell through, though many of the songs were later used by Stef in his solo project in 2019 (VIANA "Forever Free," Escape Music).

In 2002, I launched the musical project BIG TOKYO, which endured through highs and lows until 2015. With Matteo "Jessie J" Ghelma, we released an EP "Keep it loud!" (also distributed in some US states), a single "Jackie" (2003), and in 2015 collaborated with Japanese singer-songwriter PoraPora on two hard rock tracks.

From 2002 to 2019, I pursued my passion through solo projects simply branded as MAC, later adding PARAK due to the name's saturation in media circles. Under the moniker MAC PARAK, I released six EPs and several singles between 2008 and 2019.
